TV-company CTV, news: Interview with Professor Nikolai A. Skepjan, Head of the Republican Center of Allergology & Occupational Pathology. The problems of allergy and secondary immune deficiencies among populations in Belarus had been concerned. In particular, problem of influence of ecological factors on immune status of population had been presented.

The
following specialists met with journalists of mass media to concern the topics:
Proffessor Leonid P. Titov, Director of the Research Institute for
Epidemiology & Microbiology; Head of the Department of Microbiology,
Virology and Immunology of the Belarusian State Medical University, made short
introduction to immunology as a science and told about the role of immune
system in protection against viral and bacterial infections. Also short revew
on the groups of immune diseases has been presented.
Proffessor Michael I. Rimzha, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public
Health of the Republic of Belarus, Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Republic
of Belarus concerned the questions of specific immunoprophylaxis in the
country.
Dr.
Irina E. Gurmanchuk, Head of Science Department at the Ministry of Public Health of
the Republic of Belarus, told about scientific investigations in the field of immunology in
Belarus.
Proffessor Sergei V. Fedorovich, Chairman of Belarusian Scientific Society
of Immunologists and Allergologists (BSSIA), Head of Clinical Department of
Occupational Pathology of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center, told
about present and future activities of the BSSIA.
Proffessor Michael P. Potapnev, Director of the Research Institute for Hematology and
Blood Transfusion presented the questions of immune hematology and oncology.
The appropriate information in main scientific and medical journals will be published.
TV and radio
interviews will be hold through April 28-29, 2005, devoted to the actual
problems of immunology and allergology.
